Nanuet, New York

Nanuet is the second "Legacy Location," featuring a Studio C Beta animatronic. The reopening celebration in July 2024 included a special "Throwback Thursday" night with Avenger-era music videos and discounted menu items. The location also boasts nostalgic wall art, including Phase 3 & 4 pieces, Elvis photos, and the Phase 4 "Super Chuck/Wonder Helen" parody picture.

Hicksville, New York

Hicksville, the third "Legacy Location," reopened the day after Nanuet in July 2024. The event featured live shows and a balloon drop, along with animatronic performances. This location showcases a 1-Stage setup, along with nostalgic elements like the "Men in Black" parody picture and a mix of Phase 4 and 2.0 art.

Springfield, Illinois

Springfield, Illinois, is the fourth "Legacy Location" and held its grand opening on July 25, 2024. The animatronics performed an hour-long non-stop CEC song playlist, and the event included raffles with exciting prizes. Springfield features a CU-1 Stage setup, along with Phase 4 art, including kids' photos with Chuck E. and Warhol tribute pieces.

Charlotte, North Carolina

Charlotte, also known as Pineville, North Carolina, is the fifth and final "Legacy Location." Its reopening on July 26, 2024, was the biggest celebration of all, with invitations sent out by CEC Corporate. This location features a 3-Stage animatronic show and a Pizza Time Theatre/ShowBiz Pizza Time/CEC Entertainment memorabilia exhibit. The exhibit includes PTT guest star posters, Phase 3 & 4 art, Avenger exterior signs, and a "Chuck E. Cheese Throughout the Years" timeline poster.

In addition to these "Legacy Locations," there are a few other Chuck E. Cheese locations that have been reported to still have operational animatronics as of 2023 and early 2024. These include Tallahassee, Florida; Firestone, Norwalk, and Huntington Beach, California; Decatur, Alabama; Fayetteville, Arkansas; St. Cloud and Maple Grove, Minnesota; Muncie, Indiana; Novi, Michigan; Toronto, Willowdale, Ontario; and Warwick, Rhode Island. However, it's important to note that some of these locations may have undergone changes since then, and the animatronics may no longer be present.

Chuck E. Cheese's plans to phase out animatronics

While the Northridge and Nanuet locations will feature the full band, the Nanuet location will only display an animatronic Chuck E. Cheese.

In addition to the five locations mentioned above, there are a few other Chuck E. Cheese's restaurants that still have animatronics. These include locations in Tallahassee, Florida; Norwalk, California; Decatur, Alabama; Muncie, Indiana; and Charlotte, North Carolina. • Charlotte (Pineville), North Carolina: Charlotte features a 3-Stage animatronic show and a Pizza Time Theatre/ShowBiz Pizza Time/CEC Entertainment memorabilia exhibit adjacent to the showroom. The exhibit includes PTT guest star posters, Phase 3 and 4 art, an Avenger exterior sign, a "Tokens Over Time" collection, and a "Chuck E. Cheese Throughout the Years" timeline poster.

Fans' nostalgia for animatronics

Fans of Chuck E. Cheese's animatronics have expressed their love for the quirky weirdness of the fuzzy, slow-blinking, singing characters. For many, the robots are a nostalgic reminder of their youth, and some adults even brought their children to the restaurant to share a piece of their childhood.

However, the robots have also been described as "kind of scary", and some parents have said that their younger children were creeped out by the animatronics.
